---- — SALEM — A tractor-trailer accident tied up traffic on Interstate 93 north yesterday morning.
Dale Edson, 36, of Swanzey lost control of his 2013 Freightliner just after 11 a.m. at the lane merge just north of Exit 1, according to New Hampshire State Police.
“It slid about 200 feet and then made contact with a white (Chevrolet) Suburban,” N.H. State Police Sgt. Paul Hunt said of the tractor-trailer.
A 2000 Chrysler LHS, a full-sized sedan, also was damaged in the crash.
The LHS was driven by James Palleschi, 80, of Hampton. Janet Seidi, 49, of Wellesley, Mass., was driving the 2009 Suburban.
Police did not say how many people were injured in the crash.
They did say Palleschi and Seidi, and passengers from both vehicles, were taken to Parkland Medical Center and Lawrence General Hospital with minor injuries.
Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Hunt said the vehicles remained on the highway for 90 minutes, and the traffic was reduced to one lane for 45 minutes.
Members of the New Hampshire State Police Troops B and G, Salem Fire and the N.H. Department of Transportation all helped at the scene.
