Haverhill-Central game postponed due to West Nile concerns

HAVERHILL — Due the threat of West Nile Virus and a continued ban on outdoor activities on public property, Haverhill High School has rescheduled its first home game of the season.

The game against Central Catholic that was scheduled for tonight at Trinity Stadium will be played tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Athletic Director Tom O'Brien said an estimated crowd of 2,000 was expected tonight, as both football teams are ranked in the top 25 in the state by ESPN Boston. Haverhill is ranked 15th and Central is ranked 23rd.

Admission to tomorrow's game is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
