Londonderry crash victim remains hospitalized

LONDONDERRY— A Londonderry man remains hospitalized following a car crash on Thursday night.

Police Lt. Kevin Cavallaro said Kyle Pedrick, 21, was injured when his Volkswagen GTI struck a stone wall and a utility pole on Litchfield Road shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Pedrick suffered a head injury and was transported by helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

A representative from Beth Israel said Pedrick was in the intensive care unit yesterday.

Cavallaro said Pedrick was speeding when he lost control of his car. He said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Cavallaro said another driver pulled Pedrick out of the car and waited with him until police arrived. Pedrick was conscious and alert, but police decided to call for the medical helicopter.

“With head injuries, we decide to use an abundance of caution,” Cavallaro said.
