Methuen woman, injured in New Year’s Eve crash

METHUEN — A local woman was flown to a Boston hospital on New Year’s Eve after a single-car accident on Maple Street.

Regine Fountain, 28, of 10 Independence Drive, was injured when her car struck a tree near 152 Maple St. at 10:36 p.m. Monday.

She was taken to Lawrence General Hospital then flown by medical helicopter to Beth Israel Hospital. She was  in fair condition as of yesterday morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

The State Police accident reconstruction team is investigating, police said.

Maple Street runs from Howe Street into Salem, N.H. The accident occurred not far from the New Hampshire border.
