On Monday, police issued a wanted poster for Arroyo, after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and threatened to kill her. An alleged drug dealer, Arroyo also used the aliases of Anthony Tartak and Jose Tartak. He threatened “to shoot police officers if they attempted to apprehend him,” according to a police report.
On Tuesday evening, local and state police detectives learned Arroyo was staying with a friend at 28 Glines St. in Haverhill. Just after 7 p.m., they followed him out of Haverhill, tailing him and his driver to Merrimack Street in Lawrence.
At the time of his arrest, Arroyo had the black Ruger in the waistband of his pants, according to a report by Detective Dean Murphy. He was also in possession of heroin, cocaine and bullets, police said.
Police also found a silver Beretta belonging to Arroyo during a search of 28 Glines St. in Haverhill. And Arroyo’s sawed off shotgun was seized from at 66 Russell St. in North Andover, the home of Arroyo’s friend Jonathan Bunnell, 24.
Bunnell was charged with illegal possession of Methadone and Citalopram, a prescription drug, and knowingly being present where heroin was kept.
According to his booking slip, Arroyo was charged with three counts of illegal possession of cocaine, trafficking heroin, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a firearm without a license and three outstanding warrants.
