Additional charge of human trafficking leveled at accused madam

LAWRENCE — An accused madam charged with running a house of prostitution and secretly videotaping clients is now facing an additional charge of human trafficking.

Police say Lori Baron, 50, of Salem, N.H. was running a whorehouse on Broadway, using the name "The Day Spa for Gentlemen" as a front. Yesterday she was charged with felony counts of maintaining a house of prostitution, deriving support from prostitution, unlawful wiretapping, extortion and photographing unsuspecting nude persons.

This morning, prior to her arraignment, investigators brought the additional charge of human trafficking but did not elaborate.

Barron is expected to be arraigned this morning.
