District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Andover police issued the following statement this morning on the 2011 slayings of Jack and Geraldine Magee of Andover:
DA Blodgett and Andover Police: Magee Murder Investigation Still Active
With the two year anniversary of the murder of John and Geraldine Magee approaching, District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Andover Police Chief Patrick Keefe are renewing their appeal to the public for information while also reiterating that the two agencies are still actively investigating the double homicide.
John and Geraldine Magee were found shot to death in their home at 7 Orchard Crossing in Andover on the morning of December 14, 2011. Their Lexus SUV was found on fire on Prince Street in Boston on the evening of December 13, 2011.
The Andover Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office are working together to solve the double homicide. D.A. Blodgett explained that specific details about the investigation cannot be released at this time. “The investigation remains active and a high priority. We will continue to pursue every lead until we find the person or persons responsible for this tragic murder and seek justice for the Magee family in court.”
Chief Keefe added, “The Andover Police Department along with the Essex District Attorney’s Office is determined to find those responsible for this horrific act. This remains a top priority with all agencies involved and we continue to investigate all leads and angles of this senseless murder. We continue to request that anyone with any information or possible information in this incident to come forward and contact one of the agencies involved.”
