Early morning crash kills 2 in Seabrook

SEABROOK -- A young man and woman were killed early today when their car hit a parked vehicle then a utility pole on Causeway Street.

New Hampshire State Police identified the victims as Colon Ross, 23, of Hampton Falls and Stacy Walsh, 22, of West Newbury.

Police said Ross was driving a 2002 Honda Accord headed north about 4:30 a.m. when he lost control of the car and hit the parked vehicle and utility pole. Walsh was a passenger in the front seat.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene by a medical examiner. The crash caused extensive damage to the car.

A state police press release did not indicate whether the driver and passenger were wearing seat belts.

Police said "unreasonable speed" and alcohol were factors in the crash, but an investigation is continuing.

Police asked that anyone who saw the car before the crash or has other information contact Trooper Anthony Cattabriga at 603-223-8490 or Anthony.Cattabriga@dos.nh.gov.

Causeway Street is east of Route 1, running between Farm Lane and Walton Road.

Assisting at the crash scene were members of the Seabrook Police Department and Seabrook Fire and Rescue.
