Facebook post helps locate missing boy, 12

METHUEN — A 12-year-old boy missing all weekend was found last night after a Lawrence resident saw a police alert with the boy's picture on Facebook.

The Lawrence resident recognized Joseph Christopulos as the boy who was visiting a friend nearby at 125 Oxford St., police said.

The alert on the boy posted on the police department's Facebook page was shared 567 times last night. Christopulos was found less than three hours after the initial post.

"It's great," Police Chief Joseph Solomon said.

Christopulos lives in a foster home on Glen Avenue and was last seen Friday evening.

Police never suspected foul play — Christopulos had gone missing before, eventually found with a friend.

Police also spoke with the boy's biological parents, who live in Peabody and Lynn. Both denied any knowledge of his whereabouts.
