Man charged with DWI after hitting cruiser

PELHAM — A Pelham man and a Lowell man are facing charges after an overnight crash with a police cruiser.

Emmanouil Sigalas, 33, of Pelham is charged with aggravated DWI and disobeying an officer. Kenneth Boisvert, 29, was arrested for an outstanding warrant from an unrelated case.

Police said neither the men nor Officer Thomas Goulden were injured in the crash on Jericho Road about 10 p.m.

The crash happened after police tried to stop the vehicle Sigalas was driving for an alleged speed violation. Sigalas also was involved in a collision earlier in the evening on Bridge Street near the Salem line, police said.

State police are investigating the crash involving the police cruiser.

Boisvert was scheduled to appear in 10th Circuit Court in Salem today.

Details weren't immediately available on Sigalas's court date.

Another passenger, Allison Dumas, 30, of Lowell, was taken into protective custody for having an open container, police said.
