Storm slows commuters in N.H.

Several inches of snow made the commute tough on drivers in Southern New Hampshire this morning.

Icy road conditions brought traffic to a crawl on Interstate 93, with the speed limit lowered to 45 mph.

A power outage affected Windham and Derry after a car hit a utility pole early this morning. The accident was cleared, but 235 customers remained without power in Windham as of 10 a.m.

There were few accidents in the area until about 10 a.m., when several were reported within a half-hour span in Windham and Salem. They included a rollover on North Lowell Road in Windham. No injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service said Southern New Hampshire received between 3 and 6 inches of snow so far. The snow is expected to continue falling throughout the day, accumulating up to 10 inches, before turning to sleet early tonight.
