Danville woman faces drug, theft charges

DANVILLE — A Danville woman accused of stealing hundreds of painkillers from the Exeter pharmacy that employed her has lost her privilege to work as a pharmacy technician.

On Wednesday, the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy rescinded the technician privileges of Brittany Bertone, 25, according to the state Attorney General’s Office.

Bertone was arrested for possession of narcotics on Dec. 29, according to the Exeter police log. She was released on $2,500 personal recognizance.

Bertone received privileges to work as a pharmacy technician Nov. 30, 2010, according to the state board.

Her employer launched an internal investigation and concluded she had stolen at least 300 hydrocodone tablets from the drugstore’s inventory between June and December.

Exeter police arrested Bertone and charged her with theft and felony drug possession. Bertone has been ordered to appear before the state pharmacy board Wednesday for a hearing.
