Crash closes lanes, ties up I-93

LONDONDERRY — Traffic was tied for more than two hours at midday yesterday on Interstate 93 near Exit 5.

Shortly after noon, a pickup truck towing a trailer and Bobcat crashed into the concrete barrier in the median from the southbound side.

The truck climbed the barrier and debris was spread into the north- and south-bound lanes as a result.

N.H. State Police closed the high-speed lanes in both directions of travel while repairs were made and the truck and trailer could be towed from the scene, police said.

David Ferris of Nashua lost control of a Chevrolet pickup before striking the median barrier.

State police were assisted by the Londonderry Fire Department, state Department of Transportation personnel and Severino Construction Co.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Trooper First Class Grealy at State Police Troop B in Bedford at (603) 666-3333.
