Woman robbed at gunpoint after parking car

LAWRENCE - A woman was robbed at gunpoint as she pulled into a parking space in her apartment complex last night.

A robber pointed a gun at the 66-year-old woman and ripped her purse from her hands after she’d just parked at the Bradford Apartments, police said.

The woman didn’t have any cash in her purse. The handbag did contain personal papers and a cell phone, however, police said.

She said her attacker was 5 feet, 6 inches tall and was wearing dark clothing. He had the hood of a jacket or sweatshirt pulled tightly over his head, she told police.

After robbing her, the man fled down a nearby alley which connects to Broadway (Route 28).

The woman was not injured in the armed robbery, police said.
