SALEM — Patrick McDougall, who recently resigned from the Budget Committee and Zoning Board of Adjustment, was sentenced to 48 hours in jail for interfering with paramedics answering his wife's 911 call in June.
McDougall won't report to the county jail until Jan. 23 to serve his two days.
Last month, a 10th Circuit Court judge found McDougall guilty of obstructing government administration. McDougall refused to let paramedics take his wife to the hospital for treatment of a severe headache, insisting he would drive her himself.
He faced up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
But McDougall, 38, still faces two felony witness tampering charges, a criminal threatening charge and a disorderly conduct charge in a related case to be heard in Rockingham Superior Court.
McDougall and his wife both wept in court this afternoon.
