NORTH ANDOVER — Christine Allen announced last night she is not seeking a third term on the School Committee.

“It’s time for someone else to step in,” she told The Eagle-Tribune. Allen, who works as the office manager for a local portfolio management firm, was first elected to the committee in 2007. She chaired the committee from March 2011 to last March.

Allen noted her children are no longer attending the North Andover schools.

“I will not be leaving public service,” she said.

Two residents have taken out nomination papers to run for School Committee in the March 26 election. Both of them, Zora Warren, a former middle school social studies and English teacher, and Mark Mezzina, a college student, attended last night’s committee meeting.
