Three teens held on $500K each

LAWRENCE — Three local youths charged with the armed robbery of South Union Street convenience store Friday night were each ordered held on $500,000 bail today.

Michael Tesaun Alicea, 19, Richard Mora, 18, and Ruben Saldana, 18, were arraigned in Lawrence District Court this afternoon.

Each one was also employed by the Lawrence public works department under an $800,000 anti-crime grant aimed at rehabilitating at-risk youths.

Police say they are also suspects in seven recent city armed robberies.

Friday night, after barricading themselves in the convenience store, police said Alicea, Mora and Saldana tried to shoot their way out of a locked back door, but failed and surrendered when police surrounded the market.
