Mass. wrestlers get reprieve, will compete at New England

Masschusetts high schools wrestlers will be able to compete in the New England Championships in Providence, R.I. on March 1 and 2 after all.

While it appeared the "Nemo" blizzard from last weekend might force the Mass state finals during that same week, a second vote by the Mass. State Wrestling Committee will allow a schedule change.

The Div. 1 and 2 sectional tournaments, which were supposed to take place last weekend, will be this weekend. The state divisional meets (1, 2 and 3) will be on Tuesday, Feb. 19 and Wednesday, Feb. 20.

The Mass All-State meet will remain, as planned, on the weekend of Feb. 22. The top six westlers in each weight class at the All-State meet advance to the New Englands.
