Londonderry sisters charged after fight

By John Toole

---- — LONDONDERRY — A family feud brought police to a Gardner Circle home where they broke up a fight and arrested two sisters on Sunday.

“Two sisters were having a domestic dispute and both assaulted each other,” Lt. Kevin Cavallaro said.

Ashley Bellegarde, 24, and Brianna Bellegarde, 21, are facing simple assault charges.

Both are scheduled to appear in 10th Circuit Court in Derry on Sept. 9 on those charges.

Ashley Bellegarde was held on $3,000 cash bail. Brianna Bellegarde was held without bail. Cavallaro said neither sister suffered serious injury.

Friends also got into the action.

“The argument was between the two sisters, but there was a whole gaggle of people there,” Cavallaro said. “It turned into a mess pretty quickly.” At least three officers had to respond for the fight, reported shortly before 2 p.m.

A couple of cars were blocking the cul de sac. The home belongs to the sisters’ parents.

As the quarrel escalated into a fight, others got involved. A couple of them exchanged blows.

“There will probably be two more arrests,” Cavallaro said.

The sisters have had trouble getting along. Cavallaro said Ashley Bellegarde had a restraining order against Brianna Bellegarde, who is also facing a stalking charge.

The dispute Sunday related to Ashley’s former boyfriend being at the home when he was not supposed to be, Cavallaro said.
