Windham cookies make T-Bones' menu

WINDHAM — A New Hampshire restaurant chain will serve up healthy cookies made by a Windham company.

Great New Hampshire Restaurants — which does business under the T-Bones, Cactus Jack’s and Copper Door names — will add HomeFree cookies to its dessert menu.

HomeFree’s gluten-free, chocolate chip mini cookies will be served at special request by customers.

“We had been searching for a delicious dessert solution for our allergy sensitive guests and are delighted to have found it right here in New Hampshire,” corporate chef Nicole Barreira said in announcing the move.

HomeFree’s CEO, Jill Robbins, said the chain deserves credit for being a leader in recognizing and responding to the needs of families.

“We are pleased to be partnering with Great New Hampshire Restaurants,” Robbins said. “Our family has long enjoyed their healthy, allergy friendly, handmade meals.”

The chain has restaurants in Derry and Salem.

HomeFree earlier this year announced it is branching out with exports to Canada.

“We’re growing very quickly,” Robbins said at the time. “Our sales are more than doubling this year over last year.”

The company, located on Industrial Drive, employs 16 people and anticipates expanding its workforce in the future.

HomeFree’s cookies and coffee cake are free of peanuts, eggs, dairy and gluten.

The company won a 2012 award from the National Restaurant Association for product innovation.
