Letter: D’Amore is best choice for selectman

To the editor:

Deeply concerned and involved in community affairs, Joe D’Amore is an outstanding candidate for a slot on the Groveland Board of Selectmen. The road to a town position first begins with the quality of a person’s character and continues with the ability to communicate, an unflinching desire to enrich his community, and a record that is palpably relative to his potential to serve successfully.

On a personal level, he is a dedicated family man whose relationship with his children is excellent, as demonstrated by the way they exchange views respectfully and cogently, as seen in past letters to the editor. And Joe’s commitment to helping people is evident and unlimited.

He recently coordinated donations for school supplies for a school in New York ravaged by the infamous storm Sandy. On Christmas Eve he delivered over 100 wrapped gifts to families in Lawrence devastated by fire. Acts like those demonstrate a passionate desire to express his penchant for helping people.

Furthermore, Joe’s love for Groveland is clear. He speaks unabashedly of the advantages of living there, and according to his account, it is a great little town. His pride in his community suggests that seeking a position on the Board of Selectmen is more than an aspiration. It’s a labor of love.
