Letter: Does Maine’s senator really mean what he says?

To the editor:

It is outrageous that United States Senator King of Maine has positioned himself on the proposed assault weapons ban as “possibly against the legislation because virtually all of his friends use semi-auto rifles to hunt.”

If I had not read it with my own two eyes, I’d say it is impossible for a United States senator to be either fully ignorant of the Constitution’s Bill of Rights — voicing that the Second Amendment is about “hunting” — or that he’s such a snake in his methods as to undermine our rights in such a horrid manner.

I’m clearly use to anti-constitutionalists being so ridiculously deceptive, but for a senator to be so dull or deceptive? Please say it ain’t so Sen. King!
