NDAA a threat to our freedom

To the editor:

What is NDAA? Many of my friends had no clue. Every American should know what the National Defense Authorization Act is.

The most offensive part of the bill is related to the federal government being able to indefinitely detain American citizens without charge or trial. Does that sound like the actions of a government in a free country?

Rep. Dan Itse, one of our New Hampshire state legislators, doesn’t think so either. He is trying to introduce HB 399, a Liberty Preservation Act, which will go before a committee on Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. Legislative Office Building, Room 203, Concord.

I am sounding the alarm so that people will contact the committee, spread the word and attend the hearing to give testimony.

Nullification, essentially a state’s right to say it will not obey a bad law, which is the premise of this bill, was set up to protect states from the federal government.

We need to act, especially in a state whose motto is very clear.
