Letter: Send a message with vote in 6th District

To the editor:

I have a modest proposal for voting in the Tierney-Tisei race for Congress. I will not vote for either of these candidates because John Tierney is probably a crook and Richard Tisei is too extreme.

Normally, when faced with this dilemma, I just don’t vote, but this year I’m going to write in my own name. I think this gives a stronger message than a non-vote. No one pays attention to skipped boxes on a ballot. Voting for myself says I know that I could do a better job than either candidate.

I propose that others do the same thing, vote for themselves. Just write in their name on the ballot in the space provided. That space is there for a reason. This would amplify the message of disgust and distrust we have with our choices.
