Letter: Obama should resign over Libyan disaster

To the editor:

The president is fabricating about his administration’s actions and inactions regarding an al-Qaida terrorist attack in Libya one week after the Democratic Convention celebrated the killing of Osama bin Laden and victory-danced to cries of “al-Qaida is no more.”

The Benghazi disaster is caused by the inept attempts at apologizing and appeasement that Obama has instituted in the Middle East since 2009. What was missing in Obama’s understanding is the fact that people who are fed 12th-century laws and philosophy don’t understand or respect “niceness” and nuance. They require firmness of purpose and swift reaction to attacks like Benghazi or these people see weakness and are encouraged to perform more attacks.

We now know that the ambassador and the head of the U.S. Libyan embassy security team saw 48 attacks in the months and weeks running up to the 9/11 anniversary. They had been requesting more security but actually received an order to remove security personnel. Why?

The day of the attack, Hillary Clinton began the cover-up with the video defense which was totally untrue, which she knew was a bald-faced lie, about a protest that never happened in Benghazi and amplified it by congratulating the group that “helped our ambassador to the hospital” when they were actually holding him up in celebration that they killed him!

The press allowed the Obama campaign for 14 days to sweep the reality of the murders and the shambles of his policy under the rug. The press attacked Romney for accurate statements to obfuscate the truth. This deliberate attempt to cover-up the malfeasance and dereliction of duty by the president and secretary of state shows their true contempt for the American people and what this country stands for.

History repeats itself, now with murder. Like Richard Nixon, Obama should simply resign.
