---- — To the editor:
From a rifle hanging on the wall to a security camera in every hall — I know, I know, but it’s the best I can do considering that I’ve never had an opportunity to be coached by the elite in academia.
Still, I believe that I grew up listening to some very knowledgeable people. Leaders like President Dwight Eisenhower who knew tyranny at it’s worst and solemnly warned to be careful of our freedom. And here is President John Kennedy speaking about freedom: “Today we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.”
On top of it all my immigrant grandparents who lived under the so-called rule of nobility in their old nations warned me repeatedly to be watchful of anyone wishing to alter or diminish the Bill of Rights.
