Letter: Romney will do what’s right for country

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — To the editor:

So many claims with so much data, all of it claiming that the other candidate for president is going to stick it to some unfortunate part of the population. Most of us don’t have our own private budget office so it’s nearly impossible for us to check out all these claims and find out who is telling the truth.

As far as I can see, it boils down to a question of “whom can I trust?” Who is a person of integrity with strong values whom we can trust to do what’s best for all the people?

In my humble opinion, that person is Mitt Romney. He has a track record in private business, in government, in his church and especially in his family of living his life and making his decisions based on strong, traditional values. He has shown himself to be a “servant-leader” by putting his own needs second to the needs of his family, his church, his state and his country. In his church, the Salt Lake Olympic Committee, as governor of Massachusetts, he accepted no salary and when his father died, he gave his entire inheritance to charity. In 2011 alone, Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity — almost 19 percent of his income.

Mitt may not be the silver-tongued person that his opponent is but then words are meaningless unless they reflect what is at the core of the person. I trust Mitt Romney to do the right thing for our country not because it will make everybody happy but because it will make everyone more secure. Please join me in supporting Mitt Romney as president of our great country.
