Prospect Hill has opened for national acts. The band's music has been featured in the documentary "Ball Busters." And now, the local musicians will have a chance to play Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
They haven't made it to the main field yet, but band members certainly feel like they're on the way as they prepare to play a pre-game party for the New England Revolution soccer team this Sunday.
"The band is doing great," said 23-year-old drummer Mark Roberge of Methuen.
Prospect Hill recently returned from playing the San Diego Rock 'N' Roll Marathon for 12,000 fans, and opened for Korn May 23 at Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, N.H.
"It's been a really successful year," he said. "We have accomplished a lot."
Prospect Hill formed six years ago, with many members from the Merrimack Valley. Their music spans pop and metal, a hybrid that they refer to as "metal-odic." On their current album they play alongside Godsmack guitarist Tony Rombola on the track, "SOE."
"It was awesome, a great experience," Roberge said.
The Revolution's pre-game show starts two hours before game time, and features half-priced goods specials and an appearance by the Rev Girls. Tickets are normally $35, but Prospect Hill fans can claim an online discount by entering the code "prospect hill" at checkout.
In addition to the show, those attending receive a game ticket and a limited edition T-shirt.
After the show, the band will continue to work on their upcoming album, scheduled for release this fall. Roberge calls it their best work to date.
"I think this album will put us on the map," he said. "We will be able to quit our jobs and focus on music."
