---- — What’s new at Andover’s Holiday Happenings this year? Well, a lot of things, as a matter of fact.
First, the event adds a little bit of country on Friday, Dec. 7, when country radio station WKLB makes a stop at Century Bank, 15 Elm St. Members of the public can enter to win concert tickets for Martina McBride and Kenny Chesney. And the bank will be pouring hot cider and serving holiday treats.
Also on Friday, the courtyard at TD Bank will be filled with song when a free Christian Church Choir concert kicks off at 5 p.m. The Andover Community Music School musicians follow with their holiday music.
Also Friday, Dec. 7:
Mr. & Mrs Claus will be at Enterprise Bank from 5 to 6 p.m. The Treble Chorus also will be performing.
Wagon rides by Krochmal Farms from Andover Village Square from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The tree lighting is at 6:30 p.m. at TD Bank on Main Street.
Santa will be dancing to holiday music in front of the Town House at 20 Main St.
Food vendors will be located along Main Street.
Downtown stores will be open and offering good deals.
Andover Tree Time event will be open. Thirty trees are decorated at the Andover Hiastorical Society at 97 Main St. Admission is $8.
Frosty the Snowman will be at Circles of Wisdom and Planet Color.
“It’s our fifth year for the tree exhibit and we’re so excited. Downtown promises to the perfect place to get some holiday spirit. Holiday happenings is a great event for Andover,” said Carrie Midura, of the Historical Society. “We’ve certainly got the holiday spirit.”
