Treat dad to a concert at Winnekenni Castle in Haverhill, featuring two great musical acts for free.
The Smoothies will take the stage first, followed by Mr. Lee and The Chanel Girl Group. The Smoothies, a duo, features Lee Lewis Machuca and Matt Davis, who together deliver a stylish combination of vocals and horns for an easy-going, melodic sound. Their repertoire ranges from jazz standards to classic R&B and pop.
Mr. Lee and The Chanel Girl Group bring concert-goers you back to the sweet sounds of the ‘50s and ‘60s, with a set-list that includes a Supremes Tribute, along with an R&B, Motown, Doo Wop and Soul Review.

Andover’s Christ Church hosts organ recital
Susanna Valleau, daughter of Reed and Louise Valleau of Andover, will present a recital on the C. B. Fisk organ at Christ Church, Andover at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 15.
Valleau began her organ studies with Barbara Bruns, minister of music, choir director and organist at Christ Church. She earned a bachelor of music degree in organ performance in the Conservatory of Music at Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis., where she studied with recitalist and university organist Kathrine Handford. In December 2012, she earned a master of music degree in organ performance in the School of Music at the University of Washington, Seattle, where she studied with recording artist Professor of Organ and Harpsichord, Carole Terry.
Her recital will feature preludes by Bach, Brahms and Amy Beach. Beach, a New Englander, was the first woman composer to have her name inscribed in the wall of famous composers at the Hatch Shell and to have a Boston Pops program pay tribute to her work.
Admission at the door is $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens. The church is located at 33 Central St., Andover. There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with Valleau following the recital.
Faculty exhibit at Essex Art Center
The Chester F. Sidell Gallery at Essex Art Center presents Summer Faculty 2013 from June 14 to Aug. 15, with an opening reception scheduled for Friday, June 14, from 5 to 7 p.m.
This exhibition presents work by members of Essex Art Center’s summer program teaching faculty. The artist teachers whose work is included in the exhibition have varied backgrounds and work in a wide range of media, including watercolor, acrylic, oil, ceramics, photography, and more.
