---- — HAVERHILL — Police said residents of Downing Avenue became suspicious when they noticed there were cars parked in front of a home they believed was vacant.
When officers arrived, 14 teenagers were having a beer party, police said. They said the teens, who ranged in age from 16 to 19, were in the house without any adult supervision. Police charged them with being minors under 21 in possession of alcohol.
“There have been a few recent incidents of this type, so I would not call it unusual,” said police Deputy Chief Donald Thompson. “But what is unusual is to not have a single person from Haverhill involved.”
Police said the group, which included a 16-year-old girl whose name is being withheld by The Eagle-Tribune because of her age, all live in southern New Hampshire towns.
At just before 2 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to 53 Downing Ave. for a report of suspicious activity.
“Whoever called, possibly neighbors, said there were cars parked in front of a home they believed was vacant,” Thompson said. “Officers arrived and noticed there were lights on in the home. The officers went to the door, saw kids go down into the basement, and announced themselves.”
Thompson said the officers entered the home and found all the teens with a number of open and unopened Coors Light beers. Thompson said no one was living at the home, which he said was owned by a relative of one of the teens who threw the party.
Police charged these people with being minors in possession of alcohol: Daniel Bergstrom, 18, 128 Newton Road, Plaistow; Justin Fowler, 18, 50 Newton Road, Plaistow; Adam Frey, 18, 241 Kingston Road, Danville; James Gaudreau, 18, 19 Morrison Lane, Sandown; Michael Lynch, 18, 9 Dauntless Lane, Plaistow; Hayden Mura, 19, 24 Wells Village Road, Sandown; Sarah Paronich, 18, 64 Walker Road, Atkinson; Bradley Pierce, 18, 9 Marianne Drive, Plaistow; Amanda Shaeffer, 17, 152 Main St., Sandown; William Smith, 18, 1 Auburn St., Plaistow; Larrs Svenson, 19, 21 Brookside Terrace, Atkinson; Brett Thornton, 18, 6 Suzanne Circle, Plaistow; the 16-year-old girl of Danville; and Kaitlyn Wolford, 17, 10 Ridgewood Road, Plaistow.
