Comcast cable TV rates going up Feb. 1

Comcast customers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and other New England states will see increases averaging about 3 percent in their February cable television bills, the company announced.

In Massachusetts, the cost of standard cable will rise from $48.63 to $50.63 a month, according to Comcast spokesman Marc Goodman. Digital cable packages, the prices of which vary, will increase by about $1.25 a month. But most of the digital increase will be offset by a 76-cent reduction in the monthly charge for the set-top box equipment.Read this article in full with a
