Suspect in student's death denies involvement

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. - A man suspected in the disappearance of a Vermont collegian who turned up dead last week denied having anything to do with her disappearance, according to an affidavit filed yesterday.

Brian L. Rooney, 36, who was ordered held yesterday for lack of $150,000 bail on unrelated sex-related charges, told police that he walked up Main Street in Burlington with Michelle Gardner-Quinn at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 7.Read this article in full with a
