LAWRENCE — Golfers raised nearly $30,000 for the Merrimack Valley YMCA's "Reach Out for Youth & Families" program during the 16th annual tourney at the Merrimack Valley Golf Club in Methuen on July 13.
The winning foursome was: Rob Gordon of Dracut, Nick Vogel of Lawrence, Bob Demers of North Andover, and Len Trignani of Methuen. It was the team's fourth consecutive win in the tourney.
The second place foursome was: Gary Calkins of Nashua, N.H., Bill LaBelle of Methuen, Paul Daniels of Hampstead, N.H. and Bruce Westaway of Andover.
North Andover to host sewer project discussion
NORTH ANDOVER — The Department of Public Works will hold a public informational meeting on the upcoming Waverly Road sewer project on Wednesday, July 29.
The town plans on replacing a sewer pipe extending from Route 114 to Green Street. Depending on the permitting process, work on Waverly Road could start this fall. But the majority of the construction will take place next spring.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the North Andover Senior Center, 120 Main St.
Michitson to sponsor mayoral campaign event
HAVERHILL — The committee to elect John Michitson for mayor is having a campaign kickoff Summer Sizzler at in the Galleria Function Room at Maria's Family Restaurant in Haverhill on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to closing, to mark his official candidacy following approval of nomination signatures.
The event will include food and music provided by Joe's Garage Band. Michitson said those who attend will learn about his ideas on how to take Haverhill to the next level by helping to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. Seniors to watch Sox on the big screen
SALEM, N.H. — The Ingram Senior Center will host an event on Thursday where visitors can watch the Red Sox take on Oakland in an afternoon game. The game will be on the senior center's big screen.
There will be Fenway franks, peanuts, cracker Jacks and soda.
Game time is 1:30 p.m.

Insects of summer star in library program
DERRY, N.H. — The Derry Public Library at 64 E. Broadway will host "Fine Art in the Natural World" tomorrow.
Jerry Schneider will talk about insects and the lessons they offer, including the music summertime insects produce.
This program is for children 6 and older. It runs from 2 to 3 p.m. Children are encouraged to bring a T-shirt to decorate.

Castle to play host to psychic readings
HAVERHILL — Winnekenni Castle will hold an evening of psychic readings on Thursday from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Fifteen-minute readings are $20 each. Multiple blocks of time may be purchased if a longer reading is desired.
Appointments are booked at the door only. Doors open at 5:55 p.m. Readers this month include castle favorites Judith-Anne, Valeria and Olga. Special guest reader this month is Terri Bessette, a specialist in card and rune stone readings.
Special opening night mini Reiki sessions will also be available. Guests will also be able to enjoy a little shopping while they wait. Fionna's Shoppe will be on site with an array of books (on spells, palm readings and other topics), silver jewelry, apparel, Tarot decks, teas and Amy Brown items (such as cards, shirts and novelties).
