LAWRENCE — Candidates running for mayor will be able to respond to residents' questions and concerns, just a week before the election.
A mayoral candidates forum will be held tonight in the Central Catholic High School auditorium, 300 Hampshire St. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the forum starts at 6 p.m.
The event will be conducted in English and simultaneously translated in Spanish.
Panelists are Gina Marte, youth representative of Lawrence Community Works; Sandra Mouzon, a member of the "Yes We Will Campaign"; Jill Harmacinski, an Eagle-Tribune reporter; and Sarah Suarez, of Univision Boston.
Bruce Arnold, host of Client Spotlight on WCCM radio, will be moderator.
Questions will be posed by the panelists from questions collected by Yes We Will Campaign members since last spring.
The forum will be broadcast live on WCCM - 1110 AM in English and WCEC - 1490 AM in Spanish and will be streamed live on www.1110wccmam.com and www.1490wcecam.com.
Candidates will be asked four questions during the debate and will have one minute to respond.
Candidates will be seated beside each other on the stage in alphabetical order.
There will be no opening statements and only a one-minute closing statement that should tell residents why "You Should Become Mayor."
Campaign signs will not be allowed inside the building.
The forum is being sponsored by WCCM - 1110AM and WCEC - 1490AM, WUNI-DT Univision Boston, The Eagle-Tribune and the Lawrence CommunityWorks' Yes We Will Campaign.
