LGH President named to health policy council

LAWRENCE — Dianne J. Anderson, President and CEO of Lawrence General Hospital, was named to the state Health Policy Commission (HPC) Advisory Council by Health Policy Commission Executive Director David Seltz.

The Council brings together a wide range of health care leaders from an array of fields to guide the HPC’s implementation of the state’s landmark health care cost containment law. The Council’s first public meeting was held Tuesday where members began their efforts to help the HPC achieve its top priority: developing policies that reduce overall cost growth while improving the quality of patient care.

The Health Policy Commission Advisory Council will advise on the HPC’s overall operations and policies, and is charged with implementing a new health care cost control law, developing policies to reduce overall cost growth, and monitoring health care delivery.

Andover budget forum set for April 10

ANDOVER — The League of Women Voters budget forum has been changed to Wednesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in the School Committee Room, 36R Bartlet St., Second Floor of the School Administration Building.

The forum brings together leaders of town government to discuss issues and answer citizen questions about the FY 2014 budget. The forum will be televised live and taped for rebroadcast on Andover TV, Comcast Channel 99 and Verizon Channel 43.

Residents may make presenters aware of concerns they would like addressed at the forum by emailing questions in advance. Additional questions will be taken from those who attend in person and can be emailed in during the forum.
