LAWRENCE — Metal security bars meant to keep people out were stolen from the first-floor windows of a building on Brook Street last week.
The owner of the property at 59 Brook St. told police Thursday that last Friday, someone stole the security bars that were protecting the windows on the first floor. A pry bar was found on the ground and appears to have been used to take down the security bars, police said.
The security bars were bolted into the house “and would have taken a long time to remove,” police said in a report on the incident. The owner of the property said no one heard or saw anything. The house sustained minor damage where the bars were pried out. An investigation continues.
