LAWRENCE — Three people were arrested on drug and alcohol charges Wednesday night after police approached them while they were sitting in a car parked in Storrow Park, which is closed after dark.
Christopher Pagan, 19, of 183 Haverhill St., Lawrence, was charged with possession with intent to to distribute Class D (marijuana), drinking in public, trespassing after notice, and distribution of a Class D drug.
Hector Oquendo, 24, of 13B Eutaw St., Lawrence, was charged with possession with intent to distribute Class B (cocaine), possession with intent to distribute Class B in a school zone, drinking in public, trespassing after notice, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Jose Martinez, 26, of 121 Lowell St., #2, Lawrence, was charged with drinking in public and trespassing after notice.
Patrolman Joseph Padellaro said he was patrol on High Street around 7 p.m. when he saw a car with the engine running in Storrow Park with three occupants. The park is closed from dawn to dusk because of illegal activity in the area so Padellaro illuminated the car and approached it.
He saw three males inside making furtive movements, so he called for back-up and told the occupants to keep their hands up over their heads. After calling for back-up, Padellaro had the three men get out of the car. A search later turned up open bottles of beer, packets of cocaine, and marijuana. During questioning, police were able to decipher who owned what.

NORTH ANDOVER — Two students were arrested at North Andover High School Wednesday for possessing alcohol.
The school contacted police around 10:30 a.m. to helped deal with a “youth issue.”
Patrick Lothian, 17, 98 Edgelawn Ave., was arrested at school on charges of possessing liquor under 21, according to the town’s police report.
Later that afternoon, Andrew Marshall, 17, 314 Boston St., was also arrested on the same charges.
