Chocolate Extravaganza and more, coming up at The Center

ANDOVER — The Center at Punchard The Center, 30 Whittier Court, is offering the following programs and events.

Friday, Feb. 14 at 8:30 a.m. $4. “A History of the Buildings and Grounds of the Phillips Academy Campus”. Marc Koolen, biology teacher at Phillips will share his knowledge of the natural history of the campus as well as his special passion for ornithology and an on-campus bird blind that he constructed.

Chocolate Extravaganza: Friday, Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m. $5. Enjoy the sweetest holiday with a chocolate fountain, chocolate candies and other delectable treats. Music by Tom O’Brien. RSVP required.

Exercise terms run from Feb. 24 to May 16. If space allows, you may enroll for a ½ session or audit a class once to see if it is right for you. Weekly classes are offered in aerobics (seated to very vigorous), strength training, beginning and intermediate yoga, basic and performance tap dancing, intermediate Tai Chi as well as line dancing.

Greater Lawrence Commuity Action Council: Friday, Feb. 28 at 9:30 a.m. Linda Soucy, Fuel Assistance Director, will be here to provide an overview of available community services.

Continental Breakfast: Monday, Feb. 28 at 9 a.m. Complimentary continental breakfast.

Downsizing: Thursday, Feb. 27 from 1:30-3 p.m. $3. Ins and outs of downsizing in a timely, effective manner.

Healthy east Habits: Friday, March 7 at 9:30 am. Free. This video of “behinds the scenes” tour of the supermarket reveals how marketers shape shopping behavior. Breakfast provided.

Trip: The Petticoat Patriot, Nashua, N.H.: Monday, March 3 from 11:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. $41. Includes program and lunch. Living History Program: Meet Deborah Sampson who disguised as a young man & served 17 months undetected in the Continental Army during the American Revolution

Open Art Studio Drop-in: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 a.m. Free. This is an open, drop-in group. No instructor. Bring your own materials.

Free movies Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. and Thursday evenings at 7 p.m.

Current Events Discussion: The Townhouse hosts a coffee and conversation every weekday from 9 a.m. to noon. On Thursday is a special current events discussion. Join in this welcoming group to hash over the latest events of the day.
