---- — NORTH ANDOVER — The town’s buildings are about to receive a massive dose of energy conservation measures.

Town Manager Andrew Maylor said last night Ameresco, a Framingham energy services company, will perform about $4 million worth of upgrades. Seventy percent of the work will be done in the schools, Maylor said.

The manager told the selectmen he’s confident the town is getting “the best deal possible.” He signed the contract with Ameresco a couple of weeks ago, he said.

The work is expected to get underway within the first few months of 2014, he said.

The May 21 annual Town Meeting approved the borrowing of $4,049,027 to pay for a variety of energy-conserving measures, including more efficient heating systems and lighting as well as an energy management system.
