---- — NORTH ANDOVER — The Knights of Columbus hall at 505 Sutton St., a fixture in the town for many years, has closed and gone out of business.

Carl Langlois, president of the Camelot Association board of directors and grand knight of the Monsignor Shea Council No. 3819, Knights of Columbus, wrote in a Dec. 1 letter to the Board of Selectmen that it was “with deep regret” that the K of C was not renewing its alcoholic beverage license for the new year.

Camelot Association, the name under which the Knights ran the hall, “has closed its doors” and is no longer in business as of Nov. 30, Langlois wrote.

The Knights of Columbus will now meet at St. Michael Church, according to Langlois, who could not be reached for comment.

A couple of “closed” signs are displayed at the K of C hall and most of the parking lot was still covered with snow Tuesday afternoon. The building has hosted numerous social functions over the years as well as such events at the North Andover Merchants Association Fall Festival.
