Haverhill Democratsslated to meet Jan. 13

HAVERHILL — The Haverhill Democratic City Committee will hold a membership meeting on Monday, Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the public library’s auditorium. The meeting will be followed at 7 p.m. by a caucus training conducted by the Field Services Subcommittee of the State Committee.

All seven wards of the city are scheduled to hold a caucus on Feb. 24 to elect delegates to the Democratic State Convention. The Convention will be nominating candidates for Governor and all other statewide races this fall. All ward chairs and those interested in learning more about running a caucus should attend.

At the meeting, the Committee will discuss hosting a candidates’ night for all candidates who want address Committee members before the caucus on Feb. 24, as well as other activities for the upcoming year. The meeting is open to all members and anyone interested in joining the Committee.

Lawrence Catholic Academy hostsopen house Jan. 30

LAWRENCE – An open house and registration night for nursery through eighth grade will be held Jan. 30 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Catholic Academy, 101 Parker St.

School tours will be available and faculty, staff, and students will answer questions about the school and its programs.

Senior baseball taking applications

HAVERHILL — Haverhill Senior Baseball is now accepting applications for the 2014 season. Sign-ups will be held at the public library on Jan. 25 and March 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Applications are also available online at haverhillseniorbaseball.com and can be mailed to PO Box 5202, Bradford, MA 01835.

The spring season will run from mid-April through the end of May and the summer season is from early June through early August. Haverhill plans senior trip to Peabody Essex Museum

The Haverhill Council on Aging is planning a trip to the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem (Mass) on Thursday, Jan. 30 for a guided tour of the “Impressionists on the Water” exhibition. Tickets are $44 per person and include transportation, admission, and a guided tour. More information is available from Kathy or Rita at 978-374-2390.
