ANDOVER — Michael Lyons, son of State Rep. Jim Lyons, was arrested Wednesday after an early morning domestic call brought police to the Lyons home.
Lyons, 20, of 12 High Vale Lane, Andover, was arrested at his home and charged with assault and battery on a household member, according to police.
Police were called to the home at 8:30 a.m. on a report of a “domestic in progress,” in which an apparently intoxicated Michael Lyons was arguing with his mother Bernadette Lyons, according to Andover Police Lt. Edward Guy.
As the argument escalated, 19-year-old brother Tyler Lyons interfered, at which point Michael began to assault Tyler, Guy said.
Michael Lyons then fled the scene prior to police arriving. A State Police K9 unit was called in to locate him.
He was found a short time later and placed into custody without incident, according to Guy.
Jim Lyons couldn’t be reached for comment on this story.
