Due to a reporter’s error, The Eagle-Tribune on March 5 incorrectly reported that six teenagers were charged with underage drinking at the Ridgewood Cemetery on Salem Street in North Andover shortly after midnight March 1 and that they scattered when confronted by police.
“All the parties were cooperative with the officers during the entire interaction,” according to a report filed by North Andover police Officer Michael Hennessy, who issued summonses charging the teenagers with being minors in possession of alcohol.
While the youths were charged with alcohol possession after liquor was found in two cars they were using, officers who responded determined that none of the youths had consumed any alcohol, according to Hennessy’s report.
Hennessy’s report was filed at 11:04 p.m. Feb. 27 and the incident occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. that night. The cemetery is closed to the public after dark.
The summonses were issued to Norah Magliochetti, 18, of 8 Cottontail Lane, Atkinson, N.H.; Zachary Downey, 18, of 3 Cricket Lane, Sandown, N.H.; Brandan Viens, 18, of 40 Hillside Terrace, Danville, N.H.; Austin Marshall, 18, of 7 Hitchcock Lane, Atkinson, N.H.; and two 17-year-old boys who were not identified because of their legal status as juveniles.
