---- — ANDOVER — ACT (Andover Community Theater) is at it again, readying to host a weekend of dinner cabaret shows next week filled with highlights from the community theater’s first five years on stage at Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover.
Dubbed “The Journey So Far,” the shows will be a walk down ACT’s musical memory lane with a reprisal of favorite scenes, songs and dances in salute of the company’s success to date.
“It’s a celebration of our first five years. It’s going to be a very exciting night featuring many local Andover residents, including families from town,” Cara Kennedy of ACT wrote in an email. “... It will not just be music and dance, but also personal testimonies from the cast members about what ACT has meant to them.”
There will be songs from all of ACT’s past shows, including ACT Kids and ACT Jr. productions. The program will include a three-course meal in between two acts of performance and a small auction and raffle.
“This show is amazing because it features cast members from all ages, levels and time with ACT. We have people who have been with us from the very beginning and others for whom ‘Journey’ marks their first show with us,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy said it’s an especially exciting time for ACT, as the group will soon move into a new space at Osgood Landing on Route 125 in North Andover that will house a 200- to 250-seat theater. In addition, audition dates are being finalized for ACT’s spring production of “Sound of Music,” and summer programs for teens and kids are being planned.
The cabaret will be staged both Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $50 for adults, $36 for children.
Reservations are required by Wednesday, March 19. Visit www.acttheatercompany.com for more information or to reserve a seat.
