LAWRENCE — A 44-year-old Haverhill woman was arrested and charged with prostitution after she got into an unmarked police car, groped an undercover officer twice while urging him to touch her breasts, and then jumped out when the officer refused her advances.
Marisol Fernandez of 127 So. Elm St., 1st floor, was charged with being a common nightwalker and faces additional charges of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over and possession of a Class B drug, Suboxone.
Det. Carmen Purpora said in his police report that while he was conducting surveillance on Broadway he was flagged down by a woman at the corner of Tremont Street.
He parked on Tremont Street at which time the woman approached his vehicle, said “Hey,” and jumped in the front passenger seat. She then reached over and “began to grab and caress my groin area without my consent,” he said in his report.
She then “raised her chest area and asked me to touch her to prove that I wasn’t a police officer,” he said.
He then asked how much she charged for oral sex, and she replied, “Prove you’re not a cop and do something to me.”
Fernandez then reached over and grabbed and caressed his groin area again, saying several times, “touch me and prove you’re not a cop.”
When Purpora continued to refuse to touch her, she got out of the car and walked down an alley onto Bradford Street.
Two other detectives who observed the incident arrested Fernandez. At the station, a sublingual film of Suboxone was discovered on Fernandez, leading to the drug charge.
