Medical call ends with arrest of Haverhill man
ANDOVER — A man was arrested at the Market Basket warehouse facility on Ballardvale Street, after he allegedly interfered with crews tending to a co-worker needing medical attention, according to police.
Arrested was David Rivera, 32, of 127 High St., Haverhill. He was charged with interfering with a firefighter and disorderly conduct, and placed into custody midway into a medical event first reported at 2:49 a.m. Friday, according to police reports.
Police and firefighters were at the scene after someone reported having chest pains, police records said.
As crews worked on the victim, Rivera “was interfering with the firefighters as they attempted to provide medical assistance,” police Lt. Edward Guy said.
“During that time, he was swearing, ended up getting involved with what was going on,” Guy said.
Rivera’s alleged actions were “causing the firefighters to be distracted from administering the medical attention needed for that situation,” Guy said.
Another co-worker reported to police that “Rivera was irate due to the emotion of seeing his co-worker in distress,” Guy said.
Contractors charged with breaking and entering
ANDOVER — Two men were arrested at a Dascomb Road home on Monday after they allegedly forced their way into a home to recover equipment, according to police.
Arrested were: Christopher Feehily, 39, of West Roxbury; and Paul Shannon, 29, of Dedham. Both were charged with breaking and entering at night with intent to commit a felony.
The two men were hired by a Dascomb Road homeowner to do work inside the home, but they were fired from the job the day before, according to police Lt. Edward Guy.
“They were coming up to get their tools,” Guy said. “The resident of the house didn’t want them to enter the house and was bringing their tools out so they could get them.”
While the homeowners were getting the tools, one of the two men tried getting into the house from a side door, according to Guy.
As the homeowners collected the tools, they found Shannon in the home’s kitchen, police said. One of the owners were in the process of “trying to escort Mr. Shannon out the door, and Mr. Feehily was trying to push past the wife at another entrance,” Guy said.
The homeowners eventually called police to report an assault, according to Guy. After getting to the scene and talking to everyone involved, police arrested Shannon and Feehily and charged them with breaking and entering.
Shannon was also arrested by Andover police while working at another home on Dascomb Road last Tuesday, Sept. 17, on a probation surrender warrant. When he was arrested Monday, he was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet because he was on supervised probation, Guy said.
