METHUEN — A crash on Interstate 495 involving a tractor trailer and a van resulted in one man being hospitalized and traffic being snarled for about an hour yesterday morning.
The condition of the man, whom safety officials said was in his 30s, was not available yesterday.
A tractor trailer collided with a white van on Interstate 495 northbound, just south of the Route 110 exit at about 10:50 a.m. yesterday. Both vehicles came to a stop in the grass median and had to be towed from the scene. The van had severe damage on the driver’s side.
Methuen Fire Deputy Chief Bill Barry said an occupant of the van, a man in his 30s, was transported to Holy Family Hospital. He did not know the man’s condition.
State Police closed the left lane near the Route 110 exit for about an hour until the vehicles were removed from the median. The State Police crash reconstruction team is investigating the cause.
