Methuen police find Alzheimer's patient after brief walk away

---- — METHUEN - Police found an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s who wandered away from her home early yesterday morning and was briefly unaccounted for.

The 71-year-old Cypress Avenue woman was reported missing at 5:20 a.m.

Methuen police along with officers from the neighboring city of Lawrence launched a search. The woman had previously gone missing and was found at a shuttered mill building in Lawrence, according to a police report.

A canine officer along with a special operations officer from Methuen were called in at 6:30 a.m. to help look for the woman.

At 7 a.m., the woman was found unharmed on Perry Avenue, which about a quarter-mile away from her home.

Stolen motorcycle: Man reports motorcycle stolen from his apartment building, 270 Canal St., 4:58 p.m.

Armed robbery: Man reports being robbed at gunpoint, 192 Osgood St., 5:21 p.m.
