Rivera said Warren’s endorsement “sends a strong message to everyone in Lawrence about the importance of getting out and voting on Tuesday.”
“Her courageous leadership and tireless commitment to the people of Massachusetts, and especially to struggling families and communities, is an inspiration to me and so many others. Her work on economic justice and student loans is crucial for young families, especially here in Lawrence where we have one of the youngest populations in the Commonwealth,” he said.
Rivera worked for former Congressman Martin Meehan as an economic development specialist but left the job before Meehan gave up the seat in 2007 to become chancellor of UMass Lowell. Tsongas succeeded Meehan to the seat.
